Creve (pronounced "Krehv") is a community of 11,000 people located at the northwestern corner of Haiti, about 5 miles from Bombardopolis - 100 miles from Port-au-Prince. Haiti is the poorest country in the Americas and daily life in a rural village like Creve can be difficult. With no running water, most of the villagers must walk miles down the mountain to the nearest water source. There they find a cistern built in 1985 by the UN's CARE program which has fallen into disrepair over the years.
